David M. Puckett, LPO/CPO
Licensed Prosthetist/Orthotist, Certified Prosthetist/ Orthotist
David Puckett is a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated
from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree
in Organizational Behavior in Business and Psychology. He received
his post-graduate degrees in Orthotics and Prosthetics from N.M.T.I. Orthotic and Prosthetic Center in association with the University of Minnesota Medical School.
He is American Board of Certification - Certified in Prosthetics
and Orthotics and was one of the first Practitioners in Georgia to become State Licensed
He specializes in High Tech/High Performance Artificial Limb Care and
Orthopedic Bracing and has over 30 years experience in the field. He is the President and
Owner of Positive Image Prosthetics and Orthotics, Inc.
He is married, has three children and resides in Savannah. David is an active member
of the Savannah Rotary East.
In 2009, David Puckett was recognized for his International philanthropic work and
was presented the Key to the City of Savannah by Mayor Otis Johnson. He was also the
recipient of the Ellis Island NECO Award, which is presented annually to “American
citizens of diverse origins who have made exceptional contributions to their communities,
their nation, and the world”. He was one of 98 in the world presented this honor.
Puckett was recognized and presented with the 2008 CNN Heroes Award in 2008,
recognizing his philanthropic work in Mexico and Colombia. He was chosen from over
7000 nominees worldwide, along with nine others in 2008 to receive this highly coveted
